Ms. Dewey

Ending my last post with a bit of praise for Google, I suppose I should provide a look at what the "competition" is doing. Microsoft is testing out a superfluous interface for Windows Live Search (gee, that page sure looks familiar) called Ms. Dewey. You type in your search terms and the sassy actress spits out "cool" little quips. What an idiotic idea. This is 2007, (most) people just want to get the info they want, and FAST. Why wait for some cutesy crap to finish? It's just a hindrance.

This is like something that would've been considered cool back in 1998. Maybe they should just make Live Search better instead of tarting it up like this. I prefer to just type vulgarities in and see what she says.

Hey, profanity is ALWAYS fun. But I agree with you on this actress-lady being unnecessary, yet something that would've been popular several years ago. Maybe there is hope for Microsoft to get with the times. After all, even Apple had a rough patch back in, oh, the entire decade of the 1990s.
